JEMBER – Sukses di Korea Selatan rupanya tidak membuat Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi melupakan kampung halamannya.
Setelah berhasil menjadi bintang olahraga Bola Voli Profesional, Megawati mengaku kangen sekali dengan Kabupaten Jember.
Hari ini, Minggu (7/4/2024), dia kembali menapakkan kakinya di tempat kelahirannya, Kabupaten Jember.
Bupati Jember Hendy Siswanto pun langsung menyambutnya dengan hangat di Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha.
“Kangen banget sama Kota Jember ini. Kangen segalanya, mulai kotanya, barang-barangnya dan kulinernya. Tapi yang paling utama adalah kangen sama keluarga,” ujar Mega.
Sayangnya gadis berusia 25 tahun ini hanya sebentar saja pulang ke Jember.
Ia pulang hanya untuk merayakan Idulfitri sebelum kembali ke Jakarta pada 11 April 2024 mendatang.
Di tanggal itu, wanita dengan julukan Megatron ini harus menandatangani kontrak dengan tim voli barunya.
Sebagai senior, ia masih sempat memotivasi adik-adiknya sebagai generasi selanjutnya untuk terus semangat berlatih khususnya olahraga voli.
“Para atlet harus sadar diri dengan melakukan latihan yang lebih semangat dan serius,” tutupnya.
Sementara, Bupati Jember, Hendy Siswanto, menunjukkan rasa bangganya kepada Megawati sebagai putri terbaik Jember.
“Tentu ini merupakan hal yang membanggakan. Sosok seperti Mega inilah patut kita contoh untuk generasi muda sekarang dan yang akan datang,” pungkasnya.
