BANYUWANGI – Peternakan sapi perah modern di Desa Tamansari, Kecamatan Licin, Banyuwangi, berhasil memproduksi 32 ton susu segar setiap hari.
Peternakan yang dikelola PT Bumi Rojo Koyo ini menjadi salah satu tulang punggung pemenuhan kebutuhan susu segar di Jawa Timur.
Bupati Banyuwangi, Ipuk Fiestiandani, mengungkapkan bahwa produksi susu tersebut akan terus ditingkatkan dengan mendatangkan tambahan 3.000 sapi perah dari Australia Barat, berkat dukungan Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Timur.
“Alhamdulillah, Pemprov Jatim memberikan support dengan mengeluarkan izin penambahan jumlah sapi di sini. Insya Allah ada izin 3.000 ekor sapi untuk menambah produksi susu. Terima kasih atas dukungan penuh dari Pemprov Jatim,” ujar Ipuk saat mendampingi Pj Gubernur Jawa Timur, Adhy Karyono, meninjau peternakan tersebut, Senin (23/12/2024).
Produksi susu ini juga dimanfaatkan untuk mendukung program makan bergizi gratis yang akan diterapkan di semua sekolah di Banyuwangi mulai Januari 2025.
“Kami juga berharap produksi susu Banyuwangi bisa mendukung program ketahanan pangan baik di Jawa Timur maupun nasional,” tambah Ipuk.
Sementara itu, Pj Gubernur Jatim, Adhy Karyono, menyebutkan bahwa Jawa Timur menjadi penopang utama produksi susu nasional, meskipun 80 persen kebutuhan susu di Indonesia masih bergantung pada impor.
“Dari seluruh produksi dalam negeri, Jatim menyumbang 60 persennya. Salah satunya melalui kerja sama dengan Australia Barat yang akan mendatangkan sapi pada Februari mendatang,” jelas Adhy.
Manajer Operasional PT. Bumi Rojo Koyo, Arif Gunawan, menjelaskan bahwa saat ini terdapat 2.500 sapi di peternakan, dengan 1.100 di antaranya aktif memproduksi susu.
“Satu sapi bisa menghasilkan 28-30 liter susu. Total produksi sehari sekitar 42 ribu liter atau 32 ton,” ungkapnya.
Susu yang dihasilkan dikirim dalam bentuk fresh milk ke beberapa perusahaan besar seperti Indolakto, Greenfield, dan sejumlah KUD di Jawa Timur. Selain itu, peternakan juga memproduksi susu siap minum dalam jumlah terbatas.
Peternakan ini dikelola dengan konsep modern farm.
“Mulai dari pakan hingga limbah kami olah kembali. Limbah cair digunakan untuk flushing, sedangkan limbah padat kami jadikan pupuk untuk pertanian perusahaan seluas 40 hektar,” jelas Arif.
