JEMBER – Kecelakaan tragis terjadi di Jalan Jembatan Kencong, Kecamatan Kencong, Jember, pada Sabtu (19/1/2025) sekitar pukul 17.15 WIB.
Dua pemuda, Ahmad Kurniawan dan Ferry, warga setempat, mengalami patah kaki setelah terlindas truk tronton bermuatan batu bara.
Truk dengan nomor polisi L-8361-UA dari Probolinggo tersebut hendak mengirim muatan ke PT Imasco Asiatic, Puger.
Sopir truk, Heri Kurniawan (22), asal Kecamatan Gumukmas, kini diamankan Polsek Kencong untuk pemeriksaan lebih lanjut.
Kapolsek Kencong, AKP Heru Siswanto, menyatakan bahwa korban telah dibawa ke Puskesmas Kencong sebelum dirujuk ke RS Kaliwates, Jember.
“Kami bawa korban ke Puskesmas Kencong, dan selanjutnya kita rujuk. Korban mengalami luka patah kaki keduanya. Sopir dan truk juga sudah kami amankan, lalu diserahkan ke unit Satlantas Polres Jember untuk proses lebih lanjut,” ujar AKP Heru Siswanto.
Menurut saksi di lokasi kejadian, kedua korban yang mengendarai sepeda motor Honda Beat bernomor polisi P-3675-LE, melaju dari arah barat ke timur dan berusaha menyalip truk dari sisi kiri saat jalanan menanjak.
“Korban tadi dari arah barat ke timur, habis itu ada truk dari arah yang sama. Pas di tanjakan, kedua pemuda tersebut nyalip dari arah kiri dan terlindas ban sebelah kiri depan,” kata seorang saksi.
Pernyataan tersebut senada dengan pengakuan sopir truk, Heri Kurniawan.
Ia menyebutkan bahwa korban tiba-tiba menyalip dari sisi kiri ketika jalanan menanjak, sehingga kecelakaan tidak dapat dihindari.
“Tiba-tiba nyalip kiri, pas jalan-nya nanjak, dan saya tidak bisa menghindari. Akhirnya terlindas truk saya yang bermuatan batu bara. Mohon maaf tadi korban juga bau alkohol,” ungkap Heri.
Muatan truk yang berisi batu bara disebutkan akan dibongkar di Jambi Arum sebelum dikirim ke PT Imasco.
Keluarga korban yang mengetahui insiden ini histeris saat melihat kondisi kedua pemuda yang mengalami luka parah.
Polisi kini tengah menyelidiki kasus ini, termasuk dugaan pengaruh alkohol pada korban saat berkendara.
