JEMBER – Keinginan kuat untuk memiliki bupati dari kalangan santri disuarakan oleh para guru ngaji dan madrasah diniyah di Kabupaten Jember.
Aspirasi ini mengemuka dalam acara pertemuan perwakilan pengurus Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPQ) Jember yang digelar di Posko Rumah Cinta pada Rabu (20/11/2024).
Mereka mengungkapkan harapan besar terhadap Gus Fawait, calon bupati Jember berlatar belakang pesantren, untuk membawa perubahan yang nyata bagi dunia pendidikan agama di wilayah ini.
“Kita ingin punya bupati yang dari santri, karena selama ini belum ada bupati yang dari santri di Jember,” ucap Mustofa, salah seorang Guru Madrasah di Jember.
Lebih lanjut, Mustofa berharap agar jika Gus Fawait terpilih, ia benar-benar memperhatikan kesejahteraan para guru madrasah diniyah yang selama ini kurang mendapatkan perhatian.
“Mudah-mudahan dengan bupati dari kalangan santri ini, benar-benar memikirkan nasib guru madrasah diniyah yang ada di Kabupaten Jember,” ujarnya.
Ia juga mengingatkan agar komitmen yang disampaikan selama kampanye tidak berakhir tanpa realisasi.
“Ini bukan hanya disampaikan saat kampanye tanpa ada bukti setelah jadi bupati, karena selama ini guru madrasah diniyah itu selalu dipinggirkan dan bahkan menjadi komoditas politik,” ungkap Mustofa.
Ia menegaskan bahwa guru madrasah di Jember harus dilihat sebagai aset penting, bukan sekadar alat politik.
Sebagai bentuk dukungan konkret, Mustofa menyatakan bahwa komunitas guru madrasah telah sepakat untuk memenangkan Gus Fawait di Pilkada Jember.
“Langkah kongkret kami adalah dengan kompak mendukung Gus Fawait,” jelasnya.
Harapan serupa juga disampaikan Ketua Perkumpulan Pengajar Al-Qur’an Indonesia (PPAI) Jember, Ustaz Iksan.
Menurutnya, Gus Fawait mendapat dukungan penuh dari guru ngaji yang tersebar di seluruh wilayah Jember yang tergabung dalam komunitasnya.
“Kami tetap terus berkomitmen untuk memenangkan Gus Fawait untuk jadi Bupati Jember,” ujarnya.
Selain itu, Ustaz Iksan juga menegaskan pentingnya pengawasan proses pemilihan untuk memastikan jalannya demokrasi yang bersih.
“Melalui koordinator kecamatan, saya berharap mereka turut serta mengawasi berjalannya demokrasi, terutama saat pemilihan nanti di tiap-tiap TPS untuk menghindari adanya kecurangan,” ungkapnya.
Menurut data yang ia sampaikan, sebanyak 21 ribu guru ngaji yang tergabung dalam berbagai komunitas dan tersebar di 31 kecamatan siap mendukung Gus Fawait.
Dukungan besar ini menunjukkan soliditas komunitas pendidikan Al-Qur’an dalam menginginkan pemimpin yang berasal dari kalangan pesantren.
Namun, Ustaz Iksan juga menyampaikan kritik terhadap bupati sebelumnya yang dinilai kurang memperhatikan nasib guru ngaji.
“Setelah jadi bupati Jember, kami mohon jangan ditinggalkan seperti bupati kemarin. Pendataan guru ngaji, kami tidak pernah diajak untuk musyawarah di Kesra,” pungkasnya.
